To be or not to be...

To be or not to be...

...that is the question.

In-arguably the most famous quote by Prince Hamlet of Denmark as written by shakespeare. It is also a question everyone asks oneself directly or subconsciously quite a few times during our short stay here on earth.

Sometimes things are bigger than you, and that is one of many situations, that can make you wonder about life and the part you play in the grand scheme of things.

Visiting Mont Ventoux in southern France is always a slightly humbling experience due to the sheer size and alien landscape it displays.

This mystic mountain - famous for the battles fought here during "Le Tour De France" - is really something out of this world.

More than 1.900m high and by far the highest peak in that part of france, Ventoux really does makes you feel on top of the world when you just got there by bike. Going up from Bedoin is a 21Km climb at a 7,4% average gradient - not your everyday hill at home :-)

At the last steep corner before you summit it's really visible just how much higher you are above anything else around Ventoux.
The decent on a bike is an experience unlike anything else - it literally feels like you're decending from the moon since you are so much higher up than anything else.

Somehow you are reminded of just how big and forcefull mother nature is - so make sure to make your mark while you're here :-)
